Description

This memorial would have provided funds to create a task force to study the possibility of transferring public lands to the state. The U.S. Constitution provides for the federal government to manage, maintain and control federal public lands. This task force would have attempted to violate the Constitution by usurping federal authority and transferring oversight of federal public lands to the state.

Outcome

SM 47 was defeated on a tied vote in the Senate Rules Committee.
