Description

Turnout in conservancy district elections is notoriously low. HB74 removes the requirement that absentee ballot applications be notarized, making it easier for voters to participate in these important elections, and making the requirements consistent with the standards in the Election Code.

Outcome

HB74 passed both the House (63-2) and Senate (36-0), and was signed by the Governor on March 5th, 2012.
