Description

HB 489 would have disallowed the use of Tax Increment Development Districts (TIDDs) for development of undeveloped "greenfield" land – land in pristine condition that has not been developed. The use of TIDDs to finance sprawl type developments, which use additional water and remove native habitat, among other environmental impacts, should be curtailed.

Outcome

HB 489 died in the House Judiciary Committee.
