Description

SJM38 attempted to redefine nuclear energy as clean, safe and renewable; it is, in fact, none of these things. Nuclear power generates highly radioactive waste, causes increased cancer rates in nearby communities, and is fueled by uranium, a finite resource.

Outcome

Defeated in the Senate.
